Look to Abraham; the promise is alive
Isaiah 51: 2-3 “Look to Abraham your father
And to Sarah who gave birth to you in pain;
For I called him when he was but one,
Then I blessed him and made him many.”
3 For the Lord will comfort Zion [in her captivity];
He will comfort all her ruins.
And He will make her wilderness like Eden,
And her desert like the garden of the Lord;
Joy and gladness will be found in her,
Thanksgiving and the voice of a melody.”
Isaiah 51 stands as a breathtaking promise of restoration, breathed by God into the heart of Israel’s captivity. It is a powerful reminder that our God is a Master of Divine Judgement, Restoration, and Transformation. To every weary soul today, the Holy Spirit gently whispers: “Look to Abraham, your father of faith.” By meditating on his journey, we receive the divine strength needed to rise up in bold faith and press forward.
When God first called Abraham, he was just one single man. Yet, the Holy Spirit walked intimately with him, beautifully turning even his missteps into stepping stones of blessing because Abraham refused to give up. He travailed in faith—undeterred, unashamed, and focused. Daily, the enemy tries to taunt us, spinning a web of negativity through the lash of human tongues, sudden setbacks, or physical afflictions. But we must close our ears to the accuser! He is merely the enemy of your soul. Instead, tune our heart to the Holy Spirit, who declares: “Look to Abraham.” He started alone, but God multiplied him into a great nation.
Remember Genesis 15:1, where the Lord comforted him in a vision: “Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your very great reward.” Abraham dared to trust God for the absolute impossible, even when his natural circumstances completely contradicted the promise. Even the birth of Ishmael could not alter God’s ultimate design for Isaac. Isaac was a promise born of God’s mouth—and our God is an unwavering Promise Keeper!
I encourage us today to lift our eyes to Abraham’s faith and meditate deeply on God’s fierce faithfulness. Today, the Holy Spirit extends that very same covenant to us—a covenant overflowing with the blessings of divine justice, supernatural restoration, and total transformation. Beloved, we are irreversibly blessed! Through Christ Jesus, the inheritance of Abraham has been poured out upon us, fulfilling Galatians 3:14: “He redeemed us in order that the blessing promised to Abraham would come to the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit.”
This is an anchor of comfort for us in the midst of any affliction. Just as God never failed Abraham and meticulously fulfilled every word, the Holy Spirit will never fail us. He is actively bringing His promises to pass in our lives. Sp, let’s be encouraged as we step into this new month, this new quarter, and the remaining six months of 2026. “Look to Abraham” because the same Promise Keeper who turned his desert into a nation is restoring and transforming our story today! ✨
“My comfort in my affliction is this: Your promise preserves my life.” — Psalm 119:50 (NIV). For us believers, in our affliction, there is true comfort available in knowing that God is a promise keeper; His character is unchanging. And that the preserving power of the Word of God that has unique ability to keep a person spiritually alive, resilient, and hopeful when everything hopeless.
So, Stand tall, breathe in hope, and hear the Holy Spirit say: “Look to Abraham!”
