Meditating on the wounds of Lord Jesus
Let me tell you about this interesting incident. Recently, I met a Christian man. He is a serious Christian, one who loves the Lord, the Church and the Christian brotherhood. Although, I didn’t ask him, my guess is he is a Charismatic Christian. Nevertheless, I liked his passion for Lord Jesus. During our conversation, he mentioned something very interesting. He said, “You know Rivka, I am a resurrection Christian.” He went on to explain to me how he lived everyday believing that after the resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ, He is super blessed and victorious in everything. And I could see that he was blessed and prosperous. Then, out of curiosity I asked him, “What about the crucifixion of Lord? How do you relate to the sufferings He endured?” And I read Isaiah 53 to him. He laughed it off saying, this is all over. I don’t live in this page anymore… because Jesus Christ is risen!
As we parted ways, I sought the Holy Spirit for a deeper understanding. And here is what was revealed to me- Meditating on the wounds of Jesus… like visualising the thirty nine lashes Lord Jesus received on His back. Refer Psalm 129:3 “The plowmen plowed over my back; they made their furrows long.” And the travailing of His soul. Refer Isaiah 50:6 “I offered My back to those who struck Me, and My cheeks to those who tore out My beard. I did not hide My face from scorn and spittle.” And the broken body of Lord Jesus hung on the Cross of Calvary. Refer- 1 Corinthians 11:24 “This is My body, which is broken for you.”
Beloved, the wounds on the body of Lord Jesus have tremendous power even now after His resurrection. The blood soaked face of Jesus, as they thrusted the crown of thorns onto his head and struck His head with a staff has the power to bring healing and life. As the Holy Spirit revealed the sufferings Lord Jesus endured for the body of Christ, His bride, the Church – tears started rolling down my eyes. They won’t stop. And I experienced wonderful healings both emotional and physical.
I encourage you to remember the blood soaked face of Jesus and His broken body before you go to bed today.
You will experience the Satanic bonds loosen in your life.
The Cross of Jesus is my victory; Yes, the old rugged Cross is my victory.
The Blood of Jesus is my victory; Yes, the Holy Blood is my victory.
The crown of Jesus is my victory; Yes, the crown of thorns is my victory!
