The Promise of LENT

”Woman, why are you crying?” John 20:13

LENT season ends with a beautiful promise of resurrection. Today, we are crying and shedding tears at the feet of our Lord because of some affliction. It is a difficult affliction. Maybe it has prolonged for so long and looks hopeless now. We are tarrying at the feet of our Lord. We are looking for resolution in the natural but its no where in sight. Is there still any hope?

Yes.. there is hope. And it is true. Because of ressurection of Jesus Christ we have hope for blessings which have died long back. The end of the matter will not only be favourable but also result in spiritual prosperity. Consider Mary, who loved the Lord the most. She stayed back at the tomb looking for the body of Lord Jesus while the other disciples went back home. It’s probably because without Lord Jesus, she cannot carry on in her life. Sometimes, we are in the same place as Mary. Our affliction is so intense – I mean the shame and pain associated with it. If the Lord will not help us, we will never come out of it.

Psalm 142:1- ”I cry aloud to the LORD; I lift up my voice to the LORD for mercy. I pour out my complaint before him; before him I tell my trouble. When my spirit grows faint within me, it is you who know my way. In the path where I walk men have hidden a snare for me.”

What if we have previously been unfaithful to Him by breaking His commandments. Will the Lord still have mercy and put an end to the affliction? Yes, He will. He will not only turn around the affliction in your favour, but also take you into the promised land. He is faithful! Afflictions come to test our faith. Sometimes the wilderness may be longer than expected. But remember the promise of LENT is resurrection. The dead blessings will rise again and walk. Only don’t fear the affliction. With faith and repentance keep going to the Lord. Keep praying and seeking Him. Master the affliction with paitience and self control. Seek the help of the Holy Spirit. Say aloud, “In all things Holy Spirit helps me” And as we proclaim our trust in the Holy Spirit by confessing His help, we will start seeing changes in our situation.

“For I know the plans and thoughts that I have for you,’ says the LORD, ‘plans for peace and well-being and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11 Nobody knew or believed that Lord Jesus would come back to life, not even His disciples. But no one could stop or hinder the plans of Jehovah Elohim. And resurrected Jesus became the Christ and the Lord. Refer Acts 2:36
Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh. Is anything too difficult for Me? Jeremiah 32:27

The promise of LENT is resurrection – Resurrection of dead blessing, a miracle, repairing of the broken walls of calling, restoration of lost destiny. Like Mary, whose crying was turned around into laughter after seeing the resurrected Jesus!

Lord Jesus has promised and He never fails. His faithfulness is forever more!

Blessed Good Friday and a Happy Resurrection Day
