Promise verse for May 2024
And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you. Joel 2:25
Two words “Get Ready.” This is not the month to sulk or give up. Rather it is a month were we have to keep our faith lifted up. The break through is right here! When Prophet Joel inspired by the Holy Spirit prophesied this, he revealed the nature of Lord Jesus, What I mean is that this beautiful verse is a part of an answer to the “Call of Repentance” from Holy Spirit.
Yes, yes and yes! When we repent with all our hearts- with prayers and tears and powered by genuine fasting, the way for our deliverance gets issued by Heaven. Repentance is the key that opens the door of breakthrough. Now, here take a moment to understand repentance. It is not just feeling sorry. When we repent, we should back our conviction with appropriate actions- 1. Prayers. Praying with understanding, praying in tongues, long prayers, quoting scriptures, mid-night prayers are all a part of this. 2.Fasting. We add a powerful punch to our prayers by fasting. Big, mind blowing miracles are always a result of fasting. This one tip has helped me to keep my fasting holy. Ahead of time, I create a schedule of what I permit myself to eat and drink during the fasting hours. And I then, take it to the Holy Spirit and seek His help in making my plan a success. Hope it helps. Holy Spirit has never let me down! Fasting is very powerful and deeply spiritual. So, I encourage all to prepare ahead of time. 3. Worship, adoration and thanksgiving– Sing songs to the Lord. Worship Him for not a few minutes but until you feel the presence of the Holy Spirit. Worship is very instrumental in bring down the powerful presence of Holy Spirit.
4. Brokenness– be broken in the spirit before the Lord. Read psalm 51 couple times. If we need Holy Spirit to help us, then we have to be completely transparent before Him. Confess wrongdoings to be set free from the guilt.
5. Wail and mourn– During fasting, it is absolutely ok to cry, be remorseful and be sorrowful. Tears are powerful. Consider this verse- During the days of Jesus’ life on earth, he offered up prayers and petitions with fervent cries and tears to the one who could save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverent submission. Hebrews 5:7
When we correctly follow the instructions of the Holy Spirit, the reward is on its way. Prophet Joel describes the reward as a restoration of all which we have lost. Which means not just material things but also our age and the renewal of our youth. So, let’s keep our expectations high! Holy Spirit is going to do something special for each one of us; something unique.
But as it is written: “Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him.” 1Corinthians 2:9
