Christian Faith is expressed in a dialogue with Lord Jesus

A wonderful truth which the Holy Spirit revealed to me today during my morning devotions is that Faith is expressed in a dialogue with the Lord. As I flipped the pages of the Gospels, and studied the miracles of the Lord, it was revealed to me by the Holy Spirit that Lord Jesus encouraged engaging in a conversation with his people. Lord Jesus went beyond borders, broke gender barriers and ignored economic and social societal divisions. And this is so unique about the ministry of our Lord. Until the time of John the Baptist, prophets and priests never intentionally engaged actively in a one to one dialogue with individuals. But with Lord Jesus, this all changed.

Israel had never seen a prophet like Jesus who was so humane- kind and compassionate, plenteous in mercy! They had Pharisees, teachers of the Law, who ridiculed them, demanded excessive temple tax and laid heavy burdens on the masses so much so that they turned the “Temple of Jehovah” at Jerusalem into a market place where money changers and the traders and those who sold sheep, goats and doves had tables allocated. But with Lord Jesus, all this changed. Israel saw how evil spirits shrieked and came out when they saw Jesus. They saw first hand the miracles- lepers cleansed, blind see, deaf hear and the dumb speak. And Lord Jesus loved Israel. He was a public minister who actively engaged in conversation with the masses.

The focal point of my blog is that even today, Lord Jesus encourages us to engage in a conversation with him- a faith dialogue. In our quiet times, as we invite the Holy Spirit to teach us, we should be ready to hear and learn from Him. Additionally, we should prepare and take with us faith words as we put our prayer request before Him.

Take words with you and return to the LORD. Hosea 14:2
  • Our faith words may resonate with:
    • “Even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their master’s table”  Mathew 15:27
    • “Lord, I do not deserve to have you come under my roof. But just say the word, and my servant will be healed. For I myself am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. I tell this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and that one, ‘Come,’ and he comes. Mathew 8:81-13
    • “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on me” Luke 18:38
    • Simon Peter answered, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”  Mathew 16:16
    • “Lord, I believe, help my unbelief” Mark 9:24
    • “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom” Luke 23:42
    • YesLord,” she replied, “I believe that you are the Messiah, the Son of God, who is to come into the world.” John 11:27

But without faith it is impossible to [walk with God and] please Him, for whoever comes [near] to God must [necessarily] believe that God exists and that He rewards those who [earnestly and diligently] seek Him. Hebrews 11:6

As we meditate on the blog, may the Holy Spirit fill us and create in us “words of faith.” Miracles happen when words of faith get created in our spirit man.
