“Lord, I call your name, Jesus” A Testimonial

This was the first time I personally experienced the power in “Jesus” name during my prayer time. Please read prayerfully and may the Holy Spirit speak to you as you read and meditate.

My Situation: I was in a comfortable place, which included a monotonous daily schedule. My prayer life was quiet. I was attending the Church, participating in activities and leading some initiatives too but I didn’t have a personal vision. And also, because of my Christian faith, some of my relationships fell apart. And I was happy to get rid of them since they contributed nothing meaningful to my life . At work, I was doing well. The work environment was a bit toxic but then, peer pressure will always create toxicities.. But like I mentioned, I lacked a personal spiritual vision.

My Prayer: One day, during my daily devotion, suddenly my mind went blank. It was like I was struggling to understand what to pray for. My personal prayer points were already in a good space… no struggles as such. And I remembered the times when I first loved the Lord. And over the years, how the monotony had set in! So, I decided to spend some time in the nearby Church to reflect on it. The Church had a cross hung on the altar. I sat at the foot of the wooden cross, and wanted to pray. But I didn’t know what I should be praying for. My thoughts were so cluttered. All I said then was, “Lord, I call your name- Jesus” and I kept calling out loudly “Jesus” repeatedly. After about 5 mins, I felt energised. So, I kept at it. And after 15 mins, I started to feel better… I kept calling out to the Lord. Something inside of me encouraged me not to give up. I mentally visualised how the lady with the issue of blood was determined to touch Lord Jesus and so did not give up. As I kept meditating on it, my faith was lifted up. I kept calling out to the Lord “Lord Jesus, I call your name- Jesus.” And kept saying “Jesus”… actually now, shouting out-loud. An hour had passed by. and then, I got a new song in my spirit. I began to sing in tongues. And behold, it was a new song!

My Deliverance– I started clapping my hands as I sang in tongues, And suddenly, my body felt extremely light. It was as though I was weightless. Friends, all this is true. I couldn’t believe it myself what I was experiencing! And then, a gush of pure joy filled my spirit. My soul was renewed. I spent close to two hours at the Church, at the feet of Lord Jesus’ cross. Yes, all the while, I considered it to be the cross where Lord Jesus hung!

I kept doing this daily- calling out loud the Holy name of the Lord, “Jesus” until I experienced His presence in my spirit. But, I made no requests. I wanted the Lord to give me a vision. The following week, the Church announced a seven day fast and encouraged the congregation to participate. I too joined in. Early in the morning, on the third day of the fast- just at the break of the day, I had a powerful spiritual experience, an vision from the Lord! And it altered the course of my life, forever.

I will encourage you to pray this powerful prayer once a while -“Lord, I call your name- Jesus” and then keep calling out saying “Jesus”. The Lord will hear you. And if you don’t have a spiritual vision, ask the Lord for it. Beloved, all worldly blessings we will leave here when we pass into glory. What we will carry with us is only the spiritual blessings.

The world is passing away, and with it its lusts [the shameful pursuits and ungodly longings]; but the one who does the will of God and carries out His purposes lives forever. 1John 2:17
