Beautiful testimony- Reward 🏆for praying for others selflessly

One day, Daisy, my dear friend who is also a Church leader came up to me and shared a painful story. It was about a young school girl. She had eloped with a man who was twice her age. Daisy said that the young girls’ parents were devastated and in a miserable state. Being Christians, they had sought prayer support from the Church during this difficult time. While Daisy was still sharing about the details of the incident with me, my heart was overwhelmed with sorrow. I did not know this family personally but, I had heard that the young girls’ older sibling was studying at Bible college and though economically struggling, the family was nonetheless God fearing and humble.

Daisy wanted me to join with her in daily praying for that young girl and in seeking the Holy Spirit for an intervention in this situation. Both Daisy and I were then in active workforce. I readily agreed and we dedicated a set time for daily intercession. So, we started praying everyday for about 10 mins for this unfortunate situation. While Daisy prayed for most of the time, I’d join in and agree with her. Then towards the end, I would takeover to thank the Holy Spirit in advance for sending the answer. I remember Daisy and I prayed and interceded only for that young girl and nothing else though we had our own pressing needs as well.

Now, sister Daisy is quite well known for her intense prayers. She would remind God of His benevolence and His unmerited kindness quoting every possible instance in the Bible. Then she would liberally shower abuses on Satan calling him a liar, a thief, a rascal and so on. In between, she would run out of breath but then hastily resume to bind evil spirits and break curses. As days dragged by, I started to end the thanksgiving bit by requesting God to send the answer quickly and under my breath I’d say to myself for Daisy’s sake at least. Deep within my heart, I knew sister Daisy would not give up and would keep pressing-on until the answer came.

Then after about two months, one day, Daisy called me early in the morning to share about the dream she had the night before. She sounded so excited. In the dream, she had seen a huge demonic hand which held a tight grip on the young girl. In the next scene, Daisy saw volley of sharp arrows continuously being shot at that demonic hand. While initially, the demonic hand could resist them but gradually, after a while the sharp arrows became very lethal and the hand started to struggle. The tight grip on the young girl began to loosen. And finally the young girl dropped down out of the grasp of the demonic hand. The dream ended there. Both of us took this as an encouragement and we continued praying. Barely a week was over before Daisy heard the news that the young girl was back home. Praise God!

That same week, my dear friend Daisy got sponsors for her mission trip to London. She had been waiting on the Lord to open doors for her to go full time into ministry. And when she shared this news with me, that very instant, I felt a strong leaping sensation in my belly and I was filled with sudden gush of pure joy. (like in Luke 1:44- For as soon as the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for joy). Such a precious reward!

Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will reward them for what they have done. Proverbs 19:17
