The Valley of Baca and the Victory thereafter
An anointed man of God, whose ministry was expanding very fast suddenly lost his dear daughter in a car accident. Many fellow believers blamed him for the unfortunate loss. He was devastated. As a minister of the Gospel of Lord Jesus. he was deeply wounded and hurt. He use to cry a lot in the presence of the Holy Spirit, for many months and years together. In one of his sermons. I heard him say that when he was afflicted with the loss of his beloved daughter, that is when he felt most the presence of Yeshua, Jesus Christ our Messiah. And he often use to conduct special meetings where his congregation would weep uncontrollably and many times loudly. Such powerful and deep sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit! It broke strongholds and bondages of bad character and worldly attitude.
I have heard some popular preachers of our times say that weeping does not fetch anything from the throne of grace. They couldn’t be more wrong! In Psalm 84:6, psalmist states that the people of God, when they journey through the Valley of Baca, they convert it into a place of blessing. And the autumn rains further fill the pools with blessings. It implies that tears shed in the presence of the Holy Spirit are capable of turning around the situation and making a hard place that is arid and dry into a pool of water, a blessing. When we take our afflictions before the Lord of all flesh, Jesus, He will surely listen and answer us. Lord Jesus is faithful to protect us from the evil plans of Satan. Satan is constantly looking at ways to inflict us with sorrow. He keeps fashioning weapons for our failure, shame and loss. Satan’s kingdom is all about curses. Evil spirits invoked by satan worshippers and occultist through blood sacrifices are set in the heavenlies to block our blessings and to delay them. Sometimes evil spirits are tasked by these occultists to torment souls day and night. Many mental diseases are because of such evil spirits or demons. But for us, Christians there is hope. Because Lord Jesus destroyed all the works of Satan and crushed the head of the cursed serpent on the Cross of Calvary. That Cross of Calvary where Lord Jesus was crucified, is our victory.
To go through the Valley of Baca, a painful and a hard place, special grace is required. And tears fetch that special grace. This precious grace is so amazing that it will enable you to walk through the valley of baca victoriously. This wonderful grace will frustrate the plans of satanists, occultists and everyone who exalts themselves over Yeshua, Christ- the Messiah. There is a time set in the heavens for our victory. And this grace takes us into that time. We cannot fight evil spirits with our human strength and capabilities. Only a spirit can fight a spirit. Grace is a spirit, Holy Spirit. When we intercede with tears, Holy Spirit and His angels fight evil spirits on our behalf. That is why we feel light and joyful after praying. The joy after praying is an evidence that our prayers and supplications have been accepted. A prayer of faith can be repeated multiple times. Lord Jesus Himself prayed thrice in the garden of Gethsemane.
In the gospels, we do not see Yeshu Lord crying much. But in the book of Hebrews, Apostle Paul writes: During the days of Jesus’ earthly life, He offered up prayers and petitions with loud cries and tears to the One who could save Him from death, and He was heard because of His reverence. Hebrews 5:7
So, be encouraged and don’t feel uncomfortable praying with tears. Our tears are precious to Lord Jesus. They are collected by angels and stored in a bottle in heaven. You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book. Psalm 56:8 Isn’t that beautiful! Our Lord is plenteous in mercy. He is a loving Father. At the appointed time, His grace will usher us into a season of victory. The vision awaits the set time, and it will come to past at that time. The vision is for a future time. It describes the end, and it will be fulfilled. If it seems slow in coming, wait patiently, for it will surely take place. It will not be delayed. Habakuk 2:3
The answer, in the due season will surprise the enemy of our souls. We don’t need to answer them. Our victory is not guaranteed by flesh and blood but by the Living Word.
