“Mass scale promotions happened this year but unfortunately, I was left out.” A believer brother at the Church shared. He was in tears and felt as though forsaken. That dear brother was looking for answers. We all go through such bitter situations. The only reason Bible gives for such afflictions is “Spiritual Wickedness”

Spiritual wickedness is for real. And it has power to afflict and bind human soul in various ways. We as Christian believers have to understand that we cannot fight spiritual wickedness with our human understanding and intellect. No amount of human efforts will help us. It’s a total waste. People look for ancient wisdom to get answers, some seek refuge in engaging their thoughts in alternate therapy, some others embrace long travel, yet others visit ashrams or new age religions and some sulk in bitterness. Spiritual attacks require spiritual defence. The moment we decide to step out in faith, we initiate the spiritual wickedness against us. This is because “Jesus is the Light”. The name “Jesus” is the light. It is a spirit thing. A real spirit world exists which is extremely powerful- where destinies are created and destroyed. Things first happen in the spirit world before they come to past in the physical realm. The only spiritual light that shines to expose spiritual wickedness is “Jesus”. As a Christian believer, we carry the spirit-light to expose spiritual wickedness. This is a very serious threat for spiritual wickedness. Because Jesus has overpowered them and defeated them on the Cross of Calvary. Spiritual wickedness are real demons, who use humans as agents to spread their torment. They bind human souls and plague them with various mental and physical bondages.

The eye is the lamp of the body. So, if your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light, but if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light in you is darkness, how great is the darkness! (Matthew 6:22–23)

How to counter spiritual wickedness? We have to understand that Satan is a spirit. And only a spirit engages and fights a spirit. A human cannot engage in a warfare with a spirit. That is why Saint Paul says we fight spiritual wickedness and punish them once our obedience is complete, What is this obedience he is addressing? It is the submission to the Holy Spirit. With the help of the Holy Spirit we fight satanic spirits. The greater the submission to the Holy Spirit in obedience, the greater the power. So, when are battling a satanic attack, we have to be running to the Holy Spirit instead of running away from the Holy Spirit. Momentarily, it might look as though we are cut-off. Holy Spirit has forsaken us. It is because of the intensity of the attack. It seems dark- as though walking alone in a dark tunnel with no light! But we have to keep confessing “Jesus is my light” Yes, Jesus is the spiritual light to counter the darkness of the spiritual wickedness. And victory is assured because of the Cross of Calvary. Believe it, and receive a powerful deliverance.

The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. John 1:5
