Mary and her race of faith
When angel Gabriel greeted Mary, He called her the “favoured one”. And indeed she is the most blessed among all the women! But if you consider her circumstances, you will realise that Mary was a very brave and a courageous women who accepted Jehovah-Elohim’s will for her life. And it was not an easy one!
For one, the Jewish culture was very rigid and women had little liberty outside of the hugely patriarchal society. And secondly, no one other than Mary had the revelation of Lord Jesus’ birth. Thirdly and most importantly, no one in Israel was expecting the birth of a Messiah. It had been four hundred long years since the Word of Jehovah came to any priest of Israel.
While we gear up to celebrate Christmas, let us take a moment to appreciate the courageous Mary and how deftly and successfully she completed her race of faith. It was not an ordinary one. Her character aligned with her calling and she never gave up. Biggest cheers for her for being a brave person who accepted Jehovah’s will and fearlessly stood up against the strong tide that came against her. It was an unusual calling but her faith in Jehovah’s will for her life was great and worthy of all our appreciations and praises.
I admire Mary, the mother of our Lord and Saviour Jesus for her exemplary audacity and her steadfast faith in Jehovah-Elhohim’s will. She completed her unusual race of faith successfully, with great grace and amazing strength. She is truly one-of-a-kind women worthy of all respect and honour. This Christmas season, take a moment out and ponder of Mary’s race of faith. It will bless your heart ❤️
“God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a city in Galilee. The angel went to a virgin promised in marriage to a descendant of David named Joseph. The virgin’s name was Mary. When the angel entered her home, he greeted her and said, “You are favored by the Lord! The Lord is with you.” Luke 1: 26-28
